Virus and Spyware Removal

This service includes: Running the latest Anti-virus software, install any specific virus patch's (if applicable) and install Windows critical updates for you.  We can also install virus protection and spyware removal software that is free to home users.

Note: This is not a guaranteed service. Some virus' can not be removed without reformatting the hard drive and reloading the original software. This is often the preferred method since we are frequently not called until the computer is seriously infected.  This service does take several days.  We can often save your critical data. We can give you further details in person regarding your infected computer. 

 

The best way to help protect yourself from infestations of any type is to regularly update your Operating system and Microsoft Office security patches, install a firewall, keep an up to date anti-virus program and Spy ware/Adware/Malware program.

Spyware, Adware and Malware programs are deeply rooted applications that intertwine with core system functions to make manual removal without system disruption nearly impossible for most PC users.

The consequences of unidentified Spyware/Adware/Malware can include identity theft, computer corruption and bombardment from pop-up ads.

There are a number of tools available that can detect and even remove adware, spyware and malware. Some of these tools are available at a modest price, and may offer a free trial period. Some are available free to home users.  Most of these tools, though do require proper configuration for proper usage.

 

IMPORTANT -- These tools are NOT a substitute for a reputable, up-to-date anti-virus program. While they may detect some types of malware, they are not specifically designed to protect against computer viruses. Always make sure you have an antivirus program with updated signature files running on your computer. A Firewall is also a necessity.
